Car clamped legally?
IR2016
I live in Northern Ireland.
I had my car clamped by a private company (PEA). The immobilisation notice on my car for the clamp had the number plate recorded incorrectly. I had to pay the release fee of £105 to get the clamp off because a recovery truck was on its way. The PEA agent claimed that they take photos of the car as evidence of it being parked in a private car park and I still must pay the fee but I am not so sure.
Can anyone give me clear clarification if this means the clamp is void or whether it s legit?
Any help would be great.

I recommend you start a small claim against PEA for the full amount.
PEA roll over very easily when faced with a court claim. They are very keen to avoid a judge looking into their business.0 -

There is only one way that you're going to get your money back, as Glacier says you will need to initiate a small claims action against them. This is easier than it sounds and I'll be happy to assist you. As you can see in the Pepipoo thread, the last time PEA rolled over and paid up as soon as the court papers landed in their postbox. All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.
