Iluminated three gang light switch

Hi.

I have a 'standard' white plastic three gang switch plate outside our bathroom, controlling the lights, extractor fan and heated towel rail.

The missus is resisting my getting one of those count-down timers for the towel rail so I was wondering about replacing the plate with one with switches that light up when a switch is 'on'. I only need one gang to light up but I suspect it will be all three or nothing. The light needs to be pretty bright too, as we use the electric towel rail in daylight (summer months - we switch it over to the plumbing the rest of the year).

I don't need anything fancy, just simple white plastic switches, with some sort of illumination.

Any good sources that people have come across? Thanks

    Screwfix, TLC, RS Components.
  • You'll need a 2 gang back box for anything else

You'd need to use the mk grid access or similar, but for 3 switches they need a wider backbox.

They have switches which will light up when on, but you'll also need a neutral wire in the switch aswell

Sorry, perhaps I confused you. I'm hoping to replace a three gang switch with a three gang switch where each switch has some sort of illumination to indicate that it is in the 'on' position. So the back box would not need changing.
  • AFAIK illuminated switches are not available in gridswitch, and a 3 gang gridswitch is always a double box.

You'd need 3 switches, an indicator, and so a 4 gang grid and faceplate and a double box.
A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.
