Problems coach holiday company. Report.

I want to report a coach travel company for driving whilst speaking into a microphone. (not hands free. )Any ideas how to go about it?

Is that not allowed?

Phone up the coach company and report the driver if you wish.

Alternatively, go to the police with your evidence.

I doubt the Police would be that interested.

Its in the national standard for buses and coaches that drivers "must not use hand-held equipment such as a microphone while driving"

I want to take stronger action that just report the driver to the company.

What did the driver say when you asked him to stop doing that?

Look for the Traffic Commissioner for the area where the Coach operator is located, I'm sure they would advise you of the correct procedure. You will almost certainly be required to provide independent witnesses as the Driver concerned could face having his PCV license suspended.

I hope the company is warned that they need to follow coach/ bus DVLA rules. It is in the interest of their passengers that they operate correctly!

Were you in the coach at the time ?

If not and are just seeking to just create an issue for them then simply write in with your findings and say I think the driver acted wrong.

Yes, I was in the coach at the time as well.

Perhaps rather than seek a punishment of the said driver I think it may be a decent thing to write to the Company in a polite way first and state your concerns to see if they take notice.

No the health and safety of the passengers is the most important factor. It was the owner who was doing the driving and he makes a habit of it.
