Amazon firestick + kodi = Free everything ..

Simple 5 minute set up with many tutorials on youtube

Firestick is a cracking little device, dont bother with the more expensive firebox, you dont need extra powerand im sure your tv has ports for usb etc if you ever felt the need to watch something off a stick.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Now that i have finally gotten the living room sorted & bought a TV, we're just waiting on the sofa & job done.

Time to consider this AppleTV thing which i know absolutely zero about really.

I believe if you jailbreak it (don't know how easy that is) you're supposed to get some decent content?

I had a look at jailbroken ones on eBay. £200+ so no thanks.

We currently have SkyTV. Is it like an alternative to Sky / Freeview or is it seen as an addition?

Are they worth it, what can it give me (both unjailbroken & jailbroken)?

I have an Apple TV box which I'm now totally fed up with, so have an Amazon FireTV box on it's way to me now.

Is Kodi legal? Or are some broadband providers going to try and block it like they do torrent sites etc?
  • Kodi is legal, it's just some of the apps that you can load onto it that are questionable

    Kodi *is*legal.

Is just a media server application. (Not an OS)
Their are 3rd party plugins available which stream pirated content. But since Kodi has a publicly published API is hard for them stop these 3rd party publishers.

  • Only use Kodi if you have cable or fiber broadband connection, otherwise it wont stream.
Also, installing it on the fire-stick, is easy.....ONLY if you are tech minded otherwise you may run into difficulties.

There are many different Kodi platforms, and it can be hard to find the best one, also they do stop working from time to time and you may need to go through the whole install process again, on the up side, you get free sports, free movies, free netflix, free tv series etc etc....
