Family annual holiday Insurance

We are lucky enough to be going to Cuba next month, instead of buying single trip insurance is there anything stopping me buying an annual one instead, to cover next summers holiday too?
The cuba trip will be just me and my wife, the next summer one will be us again but this time with our daughters.
Also would it cause any trouble if say we went to Florida next year ??

Nothing to stop you buying an annual plan for the family to cover you for all holidays.
Adding children under eighteen shouldn't add to the price. So add them to the policy from the beginning, even if they aren't travelling on all of the trips.
  • Go onto a comparision website for your travel insurance. Pick the best 3 which you would be happy with. Then go on to Topcashback.co.uk and Quidco.co.uk and see if any of the three companies are offering cashback. Staysure are offering 27% back so if you pay £100 they will give you back £27. You will need to register with the site and it could take a couple of months to get the money but it's worth it.

The advice above is good, and there is also help here on MSE- When we went to Cuba, it was worthwhile using the best quote I got from the links at
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/insurance/cheap-travel-insurance#annual
to buy annual cover- even though our subsequent few holidays that year were not to Cuba or the US but just to Europe- but it was still cheaper than a series of single-trip insurances.

Premiums rocketed when we topped 65, so we upgraded our Nationwide current bank account to a tenner a month "FlexPlus" - great value as it not only includes World travel insurance, but also Mobile phone, Car Home start and European car recovery, 3% interests on balances up to £2.5K (which is up to £75 already in yer bin) and extended warranty on purchases.

    Thanks all
I couldn't see a problem but 'The Boss' was adamant we couldn't do it
  • Further to the comment from AlexMac, for future reference check with your bank account. Many of the packaged current accounts now include family travel insurance.

Why? That is the purpose of an Annual policy. As long as you check that the USA (or any other planned country) is included in the policy you are ok. If you (or a family member) is diagnosed with a new condition before departure date, you will have to inform the insurer to have it covered.
  • Check out the policy regarding Cuba - the Cuban authorities might need confirmation that the policy covers you in their country.
