Seller holding things up

Hi just after a bit of advice on what I should.
First time buyers had offer accepted in first few days of July.
Got our mortgage agreed pretty quick and payed solicitors.
We were told the seller had not found anywhere but would be willing to move into rented if need be. All searches are back and we signed contract etc and was hoping to exchange in the next few weeks. Today we were told the seller is no longer will to move into rented and still hasn't found anywhere.
Anyone got any advice on what I should say/do?

Speak to the Estate Agents saying that you intend on viewing other properties as this is dragging on for 3 months now, either wait or look elsewhere. If the house prices are rising fast in this area it may be better for you to wait, there will always be another house to buy.0

I was in this position except the seller lied for ages pretending she was happy to move out. It only added a few weeks in the end so I put up with it - but if your seller hasn't even found somewhere you could be months.
In your position I'd tell the vendor I was looking at other houses (and I'd do this) and that you aren't happy with the situation. If you find somewhere else you can pull out or decide at that point.0 -
Did no one tell you not to spend any money until the chain was complete?
You'd have been better asking for advice in July, not now as you'd have been advised not to start investing. We'd have also been able to tell you just how many vendors say they'll rent before they get the offer but when push comes to shove, they won't.
Your choice now is to wait or pull out.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

All too common I'm afraid. So many sellers say they will move in to rented, and then change their mind once they have really considered the cost and aggravation that will be involved.
I suspect the EA will be keen for their client to get a move on, so have a chat with the EA concerned to see if you can work something out.
Otherwise, no harm in leaving your offer on the table and start look elsewhere.0
