Hi all,

So I received an email from the insurance company quoting my renewal price for my bike for the 15th Sept, I didn't notice at the time the print at the bottom saying they will take they money up the 5 days beforehand!! Just checked my bank and it's been deducted from my available balance (Not showing yet in the statement bit).

I was going to phone them up later today (Tues 13th) to say I didn't want to auto renew as I've found it cheaper elsewhere, can they match, or if not cancel.

So now I'm wondering if anyone knows if it's too late? Will I be able to cancel and get my money back without a charge? Technically I haven't got any new policy docs or anything cause my current one doesn't end till the 15th..

Was going to ring them still later, but just wondered if anyone knew if I should be able to stop the autorenewal and get my money refunded without charge at this point?

As long as you call them before the start date and time of the policy they should cancel the renewal with no charge and refund any payment taken early.

As a tip; don't mention the word CANCEL; just say you don't wish to renew this year.

Cancel equates to ending your existing insurance early which incurs charges. I know they should understand what you are talking about but best to play safe.

Are there any companies left on your list you can use? Pretty sure they will all haggle on the price if your the right customer.

Unfortunately I've never known one not to do that.
