Fraudulent Transactions on Pockit Card - Help!!

I have steadily been loading money on to my Pockit card to save up for going on holiday this weekend.
To my dismay I logged in on Saturday daytime to find a big chunk (around £700) of the money had vanished! On closer inspection at the transactions it seems someone in Sau Paulo in Brazil had used it a significant amount of time to purchase Microsoft X-Box games!

I called Pockit and the customers service advisor said it was a very rare case and could see the transactions. He said not to worry as the money would be put back on my card within 24 working hours. He emailed me over the transactions, asked me to confirm they were unauthorised and gave me an email address to send them to.

Before I called I withdrew £250 from a cash machine to try make sure I had some of my money back leaving just over £100 in the account. The card was cancelled and a new one would be ordered.

I have heard nothing back from Pockit today so called and was now told it would take MINIMUM 48 hours for someone to get back to me!! As the team had a "very busy workload" needless to say I was very disappointed but not as disappointed when I got home from work tonight, logged on and discovered the remaining money in the account has vanished!!

They had cancelled the card on the phone so where has my money gone? I am very worried now as reading online it seems a lot of people have had this issue and never got their money back.

Cn anyone advise what to do in this situation? The money was for my holiday at the weekend and left me in an awful situation and don't know what to do as Pockit are not very helpful and the rest of my money has gone from my account!

  • If the old card was cancelled then any remaining money would be transferred to the new card?
At least with a bank clerk you have proper backup - you get what you pay for.

I logged on and the money doesn't show up, it's gone.

Excuse me? "i get what I pay for?" due to my financial situation I can't get a debit card only a bank card. This kind of card gives me a degree of flexibility with things, pretty poor dig and response when you don't know someone's financial situation. Here was me thinking this was a forum to help people not be on the receiving end of pathetic comments from people who don't know me. Very disappointing.

Are you stupid? I said due to my financial situation I can only get a bank card. If you have a poor credit rating you can't get a debit card. Show's how little you know and your profile has you as some sort of mr know it all when really all you are is a patronising tit.

It's due to your credit history, no 1 but you can see your rating.

both Lloyds bank and HSBC ask you to apply for a normal account , IF you are declined that YOU ARE OFFERED a basic account.

perhaps you could use your credit card http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=56458421&postcount=1

however it seems you are very unlucky http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=8028719&postcount=1

Almost as unlucky as encountering a forum full of patronising gits like you. Amazing how almost every reply is from people who like to talk down to others .
  • Strange that the £100 has gone since you cancelled it.

Unfortunately there are many judgemental people on here that spend 30000 posts on here. Obviously have nothing better to do.

Seriously I'm sure you have nothing to worry about. This has happened to me and they always refund once you have signed the disclaimer.

Any idea were they could have stolen you're details from?

    Anyway good luck.
