How to prepare for UKPC court case?

Hi all,
Over the last year I have received 3 parking charges at my university for not displaying a valid permit. The consensus is that if one receives a charge to simply ignore it unfortunately this clearly hasn't paid off as I have received court papers. The other reason which I choose to ignore was because I own a permit and during that time my car was in and out the mechanics. In hindsight I would've contacted them promptly howeve dwelling on the past isn't going to beat this case.
Any help please

The advice here has been not to ignore since the law changed in 2012.
Read the link to Bargepole's step by step court guide you will find in post one of the Sticky thread for NEWBIES.
You can also buy a very cheap guide to court from the Parking-Prankster's blogspot for a few quid.
I'm told that both are excellent.
I think you need to acknowledge the claim and state you will defend, but you must not put in a defence at this pint. This is explained in the guides mentioned above.
Have you complained to the uni about these unfair tickets, especially since UKPC have been investigated for fraudulently doctoring time stamps on parking photo' "evidence?"I married my cousin. Have you asked for and have they provided a copy of their contract with the Uni?
Which Uni was it. Brunel? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Thanks for replying however when I said consensus I should have explained it was amongst my peers, not forum members. I am a complete novice, where exactly can I find this newbies thread?0

Yes it was Brunel, no I haven't asked for anything as of yet as I am still very unsure of what to do.0

Moneysavingexpert, Motoring, Parking Tickets, Fines and Parking sub forum. At the top where you started this thread.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister. All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks0 -
Ok thank you, I just have a few questions:
1) Whether to complete the acknowledge of service and then submit my defence as this should allow me to request part 18 - that will later build my defence
Or
2) submit my defence now as I do wish to counterclaim fro expenses as the court of over 160 miles as a round trip0 -
I have received court papers.
You acknowledge online that you have the claim. You must do this within 14 days of the date on the claim. You then have 28 days from the date on the claim to put in your defence.
Use the search function for "Brunel", "acknowledgment" and "defence". Your defence has to be specific to the details in the claim nothing else.
Download this. Its their contract for that site and has no authority to issue claims in their own name.

If they have another one, get them to produce it.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
As of yet they have failed to include detailed particulars claiming that I will receive them within 14 days so how does one make a defence based of " The claimant claims on the defendant in the sum of £480 in respect of unpaid parking notices issued as a result of the defendants breach of the terms and conditions of parking at a site managed by the claimant I will provide the defendant was a pretty good but it is within 14 days after service of the claim form"0

What does the penultimate bullet point say?0 -
To save the others asking, have you acknowledged. The rest is academic unless you have.
Secondly if you are at Uni you should have research skills. Use the search function for "Brunel", "acknowledgment" and "defence".This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
