Morning, ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
Bright and sunny but very breezy, should dry the laundry quick, might even get 2 loads done and dry. Back to the normal Monday routine for a bit, the heating engineers come tomorrow to do the survey and hopefully tell us when they can do the job and how long its going to take.
OH is doing ok more or less back to normal, still using the elbow crutches to walk if he is out, but that should improve over the next few weeks. I did allow him out to pick tomato's yesterday, caught him doing something else, OK have it your way but do not expect me to come running if you fall.
We have a hospital appointment at Glenfield tomorrow, I can drive there, its on the outskirts of the city; so I do not need to drive through the town. For the appointment next week we have a driver who will take us and bring us back, will save me a deal of petrol. We do not have to pay for the first 6 weeks, so thats fine.
Before I forget, I was asked if I would post a tutorial on my blog, yesterday I put up a page with instructions and pictures how to make the Christmas star block for a table mat.
OK need to go and get on...............0 -
Good morning everyone :hello:
It's a dull but dry morning here. The kiddiwinks have left for school and my poor hubby is at the hospital having a colonoscopy. He has had a miserable time of it lately so hopefully there will be some answers after this procedure. I was supposed to go to therapy this morning but cancelled so I could be here for him when he gets back. He has been fasting since midday yesterday so I will make him anything he wants when he is up to it.
Hilstep, I was moved by your post, I hope I can be as dignified and accepting when it's my time. I hope you have more time than you think to be with your family x
Snoozer, what a horrible time for your poor DH. I hope your alternative plan works out ok for the wedding x
Hester, I hope you feel better soon x
I am going to have a quiet day without too much worrying I hope.
I hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx0 -
Hello all, we have been without Internet until a little while ago.
Hilstep, others have said what I wanted to say about your courage and dignity. I can only echo that.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Morning all,
Hilstep i could not help but be moved by what you posted yesterday. I tried to post yesterday but didnt feel i had the words to convey my sadness and admiration for you and today i still havent found the right words but i'm posting a fraction of what i want to say.
I admire your acceptance of things you cant change, your humour for when things dont go your way and your solid determination to accept each day as it comes with such dignity and grace.
I wish you more pain free days with your family and the people you love.

Hi all
been away for a long time but been reading when i could.
Bit of a rubbish few weeks here. Have been under docs for blood pressure and a few Sundays ago had a nasty turn that sent me to bed. Called doc next day and now have been signed off work to rest whilst having tests. Doc mentioned TIA so scared is an understatement.
Had DH dad up to visit at weekend and he had to go home early as he was not feeling well. He has now been admitted to hospital with a stroke. Just waiting to hear how he is doing but from what i can gather it does not look good. As you can imagine the mood here is very low so trying to keep busy whilst resting is hard work.
Dinner tonight will be toad in the hole as its comfort food for all of us.
Anyhoo need to watch some more mind numbing daytime tv.
Hugs to allBright Blessings xx0 -
(((HUGS))) to all who need them; my goodness, we do seem to be taking the collective brunt of poor luck between us here.
Hilstep I can only echo what the others have already said. x
Tru just when I thought poor Scampi couldn't have anything else upset him this week..... It just beggars belief that people can be so utterly ignorant of canine etiquette! Even the calmest, most well-adjusted dog doesn't appreciate being squealed at, let alone one who isn't at his best dealing with strangers. Maybe you could do with a video-phone entry system like I have - it means I can see who's at the door without actually answering it, and can tell them via the intercom "no thank you".If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Good afternoon all,
I hope you’re all keeping well.
Long-time no speak. I returned from my weeks holiday in Mijas, South Spain early Saturday morning. I deliberately didn’t look at my phone or the internet for a full week and just completely shut myself away from all that nonsense and chilled. Just what the doctor ordered.
Today is my first day in my new job. Everyone seems really nice and a really good set up here too. It’ll be hard work, but I like that so I’m looking forward to being productive as opposed to trying to remember everyone’s names!!
I’ll be sure to check back in and catch up on what you’ve all been up to.
Speak soon0 -
Afternoon folks.
WB Speky, we missed you. I'm s glad that your new job is good, so far!
Edinburgh was so hot and busy. I came out the station at the wrong place and went the wrong way to the museum. Ended up climbing over 120 steps ((The Newes Steps) when I could have walked 100 yRds round the corner. So I was all hot and sweaty way too early. The exhibition was magnificent, well worth the effort and time. Mind you, Edinburg is not my kind of a city.
It's windier in Glasgow but just as close. The engineer has been back to Mum's to sort out a problem he left on Friday, her cleaner is doing her stuff, I've organised a handyman from the 'care and repair' team to change the smoke alarm battery and made a docs appointment for Mum. Phew!
I'll be heading home tomorrow morning, mostly for a rest.

Just a quick one. Thank you to everyone's wishes. Been to the hospice day centre today and enjoyed it. The nurses and volunteers are amazing. Doing something on my bucket list Wednesday. Going to Eastbourne in my chair. Then on the pier and prom, finally cream tea in the Grand Hotel. Looking forward to it.I Believe in saving money!!!:T
A Bargain is only a bargain if you need it!0 -
Afternoon everyone
Pain after my op is getting easier but still not allowed to drive. I have read 6 books on my kindle in a week. Now feeling a bit stir crazy as there's so much needs doing at home like gardening & decorating which I can see but can't do yet. Need to learn some patience I think. I have arranged a lift to craft group on Wednesday so I can get out.
Ds2 seems to be enjoying his college course which is good news.
OS very little apart from a bit of pottering about. Dh is in charge of chores.
Hilstep - can only echo what everyone else has said. Enjoy your afternoon tea.
Lainey - thinking of you and your DM.
Redruby - hope you weren't too busy.
Snoozer - get well wishes to your DH.
Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take care.0
