PPI re-investigation

A couple of years back I very stupidly used a solicitor to do a PPI claim for me.
I have just received a letter from them, saying that using methods developed with Gladstone Brooke's, they can re-investigate and hopefully reclaim more money.
Now, can I do this myself and how do I ?
Thanks

under no circumstances do this. It is an attempt by the CMC to get money out of you for doing nothing.
Complaints are not reinvestigated due to a request from you or a CMC. However, a number of banks (but not all) have been reopening cases upon instruction from the FCA to review old cases. The banks in question will automatically contact you to let you know. You do not need to take any action.
However, if you enter into a new contract with a CMC who will send a speculative letter to the bank, the bank will look to see if you are on the review list and just bring you forward if you are or repeat their original decision if not. If you the bank does review it and change their decision, then the CMC will take a cut despite not actually doing anything.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
