Twitter comps

Ive only recently joined twitter and use it for competitions only, so I only had a few followers (People who also retweet competitions) I'm not expecting a win anytime soon, but so far all the people who have won prizes I have retweeted, have had hundreds of friends and followers, now I'm not saying it isn't just their luck, but I hoped that someone who only has a few followers on twitter could let me know if they had ever won from retweeting? So I can feel a little less worried that with my 5 followers I atleast stand a chance lol.

I have 267 followers now, don't know where they come from! Or why they follow me (apart from MSE chums), but I won not long after I'd joined Twitter with very few followers, so persist, they're quick to enter. Just make sure your account is set to public, and go to the original tweet of the promoter to retweet, don't retweet someone else's retweet - I believe that doesn't count (I might be wrong!). What's your Twitter name, I'll follow you, mine is same as here.

I wouldn't worry too much about it - I have re-tweeted over 246,000 comp tweets, and have only won the once (and I have around 1000 followers)

Twitter comps are too easy to enter, so get many entries - so the chance of winning on them is very low

I've got 388 followers and I get several new ones most days. I only use my account for comps really. I don't know the majority of my followers they just appear and I have won several Twitter comps.
I agree with misslayed about retweeting the original post if you can find it. When you win a prize and are asked to DM the site/ person you will find that you won't be able to unless they follow you, so politely tweet publicly to claim your prize and ask them to follow you so you can DM. That way you won't miss out because you can't claim it immediately, some comps only give you a short time span to claim.

How do you know how many retweets you've done - is there a counter somewhere? I'd be interested to know how many I've done.

On mine, it is on the top left corner of my home page. I've got loads of random followers and have had very few wins in the last couple of years. Going back a few years, I used to win quite often on twitter.

Just joined Twitter - don't really have a clue what I'm doing though! Thought I'd make my name the same has on here since I'm really only going to use it for entering competitions.
