Missed meter installation - Guaranteed Standards compensation

  • Sorry to jump in on someone else's thread...

Either last year or the year before, Ovo were scheduled to install a smart meter on the Tuesday after the bank holiday weekend in August. On the Friday before, I had a voicemail at around 4.45pm to tell me it wasn't going ahead. No other communication about the matter was received nor made and I have since switched supplier (and still don't have a smart meter).

I had that Tuesday booked off work as annual leave (and it was too late to cancel it with work).

Does that mean I'd be entitled to £60 from Ovo?!

    Thank you

Tonik Energy were meant to install a smart meter for me the other day and the installer failed to show during their 4 hour slot.

Will they provide £30 compensation or do I ask National Grid for the money?

It has nothing to do with National Grid. You deal direct with your supplier.

National Grid are a public gas transporter. They do not (generally) have involvement with smart metering.
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

No because they gave you more than a days notice.

But not one working day's notice...
  • After several phone conversations and a complaint, Ovo finally agreed that their website does in fact state that one working day’s notice is required for them to cancel an appointment without penalty. I am now in possession of a cheque from them for £80; £30 for the initial cancelled appointment without the required notice, another £30 for not paying that within 10 working days and an additional £20…
