Just 2 weeks after our offer was accepted buyer has pulled

Offered on a house 4 weeks ago. Took seller 2 weeks to accept our offer.
Friday just gone I pay solicitors and broker fee and mortgage application in full swing.
Get a call Saturday to say the sellers have not found anywhere to buy and have decided not to sell and wait a year before trying again
I am fuming.
We had viewed so many unsuitable places and there just is hardly anything on the market.
I feel so messed about

It is annoying, but as you have already said, there is hardly anything on the market, so they are very much in the same position as you with choices.
Put yourself in their shoes - if there was no where to go to, would you agree to still sell?
Why not just let them know you are still interested and there is no rush?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

Why have you already paid your solicitor?0 -
Never a good idea to start ball rolling with mortgages, searches and surveys until chain complete. I would have held off until your seller had a property in mind. My advice would be to tell your solicitor, broker etc to pend until either you find another property and say to your sellers if they put it back up can they let you know. In the meantime keep looking but don't proceed until either the property you buy has no chain or seller has somewhere to go. Hopefully as not much time has passed not much has been spent.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. I informed my mortgage broker that the sellers had not yet had their offer accepted on the house they were looking at.
He said its nothing to worry about and to get ball rolling with mortgage application as to not hold anything up.
To do so I had to instruct solicitors for the application.
The deposit has been paid, not the full amount.
I'm just feeling like I've been pressured now0 -
Try being one week to exchange! That's what's just happened to us and we are now homeless as our sale is going through still so we are calling on family to help us at least not a lot of work has been done x0
