Parking Tribunal: Councils case has infactual information

Hi everyone. I'm in the process of disputing two unfair parking tickets (received over two days while working in another city) that led to the towing of my car at the end of that second day. This is on a quiet residential street!

This is in Edinburgh by the city of Edinburgh Council. I have a permit for the street that I received the ticket on. However, due to unclear signage, the bay that I parked in was actually pay and display only rather than allowing residential permits.

The specifics of the case no longer matter as it has now gone to tribunal, however one of the points made in the councils case statement that we have just received, is that we personally have a residential permit for zone X, when the parking contravention occurred on zone Y, making our case irrelevant. However, due to over subscription of zone X, the council allows residents to park in zone Y (which is on the same street). This has been confirmed over many previous phone calls to the parking authority, and by many other residents whom have been told the same.

At this time however, the council is now doing a 360 on this and is using it to quash my case!!! What can I do!! This has been sent to the tribunal which I can't make in person so I have no way of fighting this lie.

    Better over at Pepipoo who have more experience of council tickets

    180 = reversing a decision
    360 = total spin

    You may have meant 180 but 360 may actually be closer to the truth.
