Hello!

thanks!

  • You don't get a choice regarding cost. You get offered the course at a fixed price and then you choose a location from a list of centres close to you.
  • It will cost you your sanity as a result of many of hours death by PowerPoint. I'd recommend just taking the points and fine.

cost does vary slightly depending on who runs it, but only by about £10-£15.

However there is normally only one course provider per force/county area so any savings may be negated by travel costs to get to a cheaper one.

Its not that bad, and its not a case of sitting there and being lectured

The courses in any given region of the country are offered by one provider.

You might be able to save a fiver by travelling to, say, Lincolnshire or Manchester or Wales.

From previous posts by the OP it sounds like he will become very familiar with the speeding penalty process, taking the course will delay a ban slightly so probably worthwhile, though potentially not for the wider society.

Sounds like a bit of a monopoly situation. I wonder how many of these providers are run by former coppers who served in that force area?
  • There are a couple of forces (Dorset and Wiltshire IIRC) not in the national scheme, that run their own.

    It's always a conspiracy theory, isn't it?
