How much will National Grid charge for a 'Live or Dead' gas test

I'm in the early stages of looking to buy a flat that has been a rental for many years. On close inspection there appears to be a gas pipe into the property. However, it is obvious it has been many years (if ever) that gas was last supplied into the flat.
Having done a bit of research, it's become apparent that the supply is now 'dead'.
Does anyone know how much the National Grid charges to conduct a Live or Dead check. The best I can find is somewhere between £600 - £1000 as I wish to factor this into my offer price.
TIA
