And if those T & C's are unfair? Did you read the links I posted in post #12?

Yes I did - and what would you estimate the costs would be for the OP to pursue the matter with ombudsman and/or his own legal reps.

I have experience of pursuing an employer though the employment tribunal and winning my case.

After paying all the fees, costs and other expenses I found that I had won somewhat of a Phyrric Victory.

A different situation admittedly - but I think you will get my point.

The OP may choose to go ahead and prove a point - but will be very lucky to gain much financially - unfortunately.

BIB a big fat zero, I don't believe any ombudsman charges for a consumer to take a complaint to them.

OK then - I sincerely wish the OP good luck.

I do hope he/she comes back in a couple of months time and lets us know the result.

He can't, they won't cover his new car.

With all due respect, that is not the fault of the insurer.

And neither is it the OP's.
The OP knew he was two months into a one year insurance policy.
The OP decided to change car.
The OP decided to buy a car without checking if his insurer would cover it, and without checking what the clearly-specified cancellation policy of the insurer was.
