Holiday Park Cancelled Holiday Week Before Due To Go Can They Legally Do This????

Evening all,

My son booked a Holiday Park about 3 months ago for himself and 4 mates to go, as its a fishing holiday there all men aged between 20 & 21 years to stay in a 6-8 berth caravan. He paid for holiday in full, then telephoned this week to ask if there were any camping places available on the site for a further 2 men to stay, the customer service advisor who my son was speaking to advised that his booking should never of been taken as all men are not allowed. She then went on to say that they may be charged a large cash deposit as security upon arrival 22/9/07. My son was happy with that and said thats fine, booked on the further 2 men on the camp site. Then today he recieved a letter saying they were sorry to hear my son had cancelled his holiday and that they had reimbursed all monies to his account and should be there in 3-4 days....AAARRRGGGG you cant imagine how mad my son was as it took a lot of hard work to arrange the holiday to begin with as they all had to arrange the time of work etc.
My point is and Im sorry its long winded but,

1. Are they allowed to do this? as they had all the mens names when booking so they knew from the start.
2. My son has to find another holiday at short notice but without the funds to do so.
3. Would it be worth seeking legal advice?

Luckily enough they have managed to find a site in Devon that has fishing lakes on who are willing to accept them.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated,

Regards Paula

Yes, they are allowed to do so. It will be somewhere in their terms and conditions. Butlins do the same thing, on one occasion the day before arrival!

    Legal advice about what?!!
    Gone ... or have I?
