Bovis Change House Specification

Hello everyone, I'm looking for a little advice. We recently exchanged on our new home with Bovis. Last weekend we went up to choose our bathroom etc. My girlfriend asked the question about our thermo generating panels (not 100% sure what they are called) and the sales advisor said that they have been taken off. We haven't heard or receive anything from Bovis about this. We are under the impression that they have broken the consumer code as we feel this severely reduced the value of our property with this specification change, one which was a major selling point of the house. We have stated that we are looking into it with our solicitors, which we are, but I was hoping to hear from others that have been in a similar situation and what happened or if people have any good ideas of what we can do about this.
Many thanks in advance,
Lee.

You need to read the contract you signed, it may have a clause that allows a change of specification.
I would be very unhappy about that change too!0

Thank you. I will check it.

Any contract that allows one party to arbitrarily change the specification of good supplied without notice and without allowing a cancellation would likely be classed as unfair and therefore not enforceable.
If your 'solicitor' is a proper solicitor they should be able to help. If you are just using a conveyancing service though then i would probably be looking elsewhere for advise on this.0
