Is it possible to have a faulty Quartz worktop?

We installed a brand new kitchen last year and decided to splash out on a quartz worktop as we were told it was extremely durable and hard-wearing. Within the year though it has chipped 4 times. One of the chips was a cm wide. We've been so careful with the worktop, yet just accidentally tapping it with a glass or plate causes a chip on the surface an no damage to the glass or plate. Do you think I can complain to the worktop company that supplied it? Feels like the worktop is faulty to me.

Get a concrete worktop not a quartz one or stop hitting it with plates.

Its hard wearing and fairly scratch resistant but hitting it with items will chip it.

It's not chip proof no, sounds like user damage to me as chips happen by impact of a hard object.

I agree with the others; chips are damage not faults.
Quartz worktops ARE extremely durable and hardwearing, if you had treated a laminated worktop in the same manner far more damage would be apparent.
