Car Insurance for a non uk resident

Hello!
i wonder if anyone can help with a question my Uncle asked me ...
He is resident in Portugal around 6 months a year and thats where his residential address is. however he comes to the UK frequently and wants to insure himself as a named driver on his partners car which is based in the UK at a UK address.
Sheilas Wheels insured him last year but this year have said he can only drive for up 90 days in the UK which isn't enough as he is here almost 6 months.
Has anyone had this problem or can advise who might be good to try for insurance in this instance?
Comparison sites are no good as they just ask if you have been uk resident since birth.
thanks so much!

Try Aviva by giving them a phone call. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0
