Hi I'm getting more and more stressed st work because of the sheer workload which is roughly the same each week as we have set work load each day.
Anyways we have to finish the stuff needed for the next day by the day prior.
Now there's been 8 staff leaving us and yet another one is going since the start of the year . We have only had two people recruited perm and survive on temps coming in as well.
They can see I get stressed out and they also say I shouldn't have to worry as its their problem but when we couldn't finish a days workload we got blasted for it.
How do you cope with low amount of staff.

Ok, I appreciate that. And I'm not being dismissive, but really that's not relevant to the situation.
The business is struggling, it's not improving. If they can keep it afloat with temps, that's their business.

True. In the meantime, however, you might wish to find an outlet for your stress outside of work (killiing your boss does not count). Also, adaptogens and high quality nutrition go a long way in maintaing a modicum of quality of life under other stressful conditions.
TLDR: Look for alternatives, eat your veggies, take up yoga and look into rhodiola/bacopa/ashwagandha etc.0 -
Are the targets manageable (apols no idea if you get this in the nhs) in the private sector all that matters mostly is you are reaching whatever you are set probably. Something like this So I am going to learn to chill.
Stop worrying as you have acknowledged staff head count isn't your prob. My soon to be ex team leader said she could tell I was one of them over worriers and it was the worst thing I could do. It certainly would have made our work relationship better if I wasn't.0 -

Management have said that the amount of work is their problem not yours, so at the end of each day take what's remaining do your manager and leave it with them to sort out.
My wife was in a similar situation to you, and the longer she battled on the more it was expected to be the norm. You aren't doing yourself any favours in the long run.
We actually had a similar situation where I once worked. Workload increasing, people leaving and not being replaced. Then managers tried to say all work had to be cleared on a daily basis, but didn't have any explanation of how that was supposed to happen. I was more than happy to say that if they explained how we were supposed to get all the work done with existing resource I'm sure we'd do it. We heard nothing more about having to clear it daily.0 -
Are there some jobs you need to prioritise over others?
I'd suggest a discussion along the ones of "we're all in agreement that the workload is too high for the current staffing level to be able to manage, so I'd appreciate some guidelines as to which of the tasks I need to prioritise, and which I should leave when they cannot be fitted into the time available."
They've told you they know it's not do-able, so chuck it back at them. Is the person who told you it's not your problem the same person as the one you say blasted you? If it's different people, then ask them to agree the priorities amongst themselves before directing you.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Not a very constructive response.
The reality is that the employer has a duty of care to their staff and from an employers perspective, a stressed worker is not an efficient one.
When stress results in absenteeism, the costs of lost production, paying/training replacements, low morale and the requirement for sick pay makes it counter productive (and illegal) for an employer not to assess and address stressors in the workplace.
Talking to the employer is the first step to express your concerns, but there was a clue as to how bad things are when the OP indicated that eight people had left the company.
High staff turnover is a key indicator of low morale and lousy management so I suspect talking to management expressing your concerns could be a pointless exercise, but should be done regardless.
You don't have to be negative, but this comment is a good one as it puts the onus on management to come up with a solution.I was more than happy to say that if they explained how we were supposed to get all the work done with existing resource I'm sure we'd do it.
Management will be quite content to carry on regardless provided the work is being completed, so you must be pro-active and persistent in making your concerns known to them.0 -

Hardly going to bring a tribunal claim against a liquidated entity.
