Hi folks. Need a wee bit of advice please.
In January I was made redundant after 20 years service so I got a payoff. I started a new job in February and have recently been made redundant again.
My wife was similar she was made redundant when pregnant past year and got paid her maternity pay.
But as of now we only have the child benefit for two children.
Yes we have some savings in the bank but that's paying for the mortgage and every bill.
Should I be entitled to any sort of benefit? I have been by friends that as I have money in the bank I can't claim anything?
Any help and advice would be fantastic

Claim for JSA as soon as possible. And post this to the benefits board for other advice. And never listen to friends. If they are right then you have lost nothing in applying. But if you don't even apply toy definitely will have lost something! some benefits are mana tests. Others aren't.0
