Booked Holiday but it is now cheaper

I recently booked a Hotel and Flight package deal with British Airways. Already paid the deposit.

I checked prices today and it is a lot cheaper, is there any chance I can get a refund or is it simply a case of live and learn?

If it had gone up in price, would you be offering to pay more?

You can ask but you were prepared to pay the amount you paid.

What's the cost of cancelling and then re-booking at the new price?
Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.
  • Looking at the British Airways terms and conditions regarding Price Guarantee looks like I'm out of luck. It has to be flight only.

Cancelling would mean losing my £300 deposit and the difference in price is about £200.

Why do people recheck prices after they book these things?? You were happy with the price you paid at the start so learn from this and once you book NEVER return to check.

Not such a stupid question; the same thing happened to me; albeit only about £50... I booked 2 BA fights and a car to Malaga from LCY and then got an email advertising a sale!

So I wrote a constructively creepy email to their customer services, pointing out that I'm a potentially loyal customer but a bit miffed...

...and got a really nice call back. The guy who rang said, de-coded, that "we can't just reduce your flight cost but if we transfer your booking to this special deal, the cost comes down...?" So I got a result!

OK £50 is only £50; but, in the foothills of the Alpuharras, it's 25 one-euro glasses of tinto for each of us.

PS- they just emailed me advertisng a sale- strike fast

    I'm analytics by nature.

If it's a route I'm likely to travel again I like to have a feel for what the baseline price is.

It's save me a fair few hundred quid over the years.
