TalkTalk scammers

Some of you may remember that TalkTalk were hacked about a year ago. Recently I -and I think many others - have been targeted by scammers who know our names and that we are TalkTalk customers. This gives them a better chance of success.
TalkTalk have been asked to warn customers individually to put them on alert, but just fall back on the generic warnings on their website. Clearly the chances of a customer being scammed do not outweigh the marginal effect of reminding the world that they were once hacked.

Abbie“Official Company Representative
I am the official company representative of Talk Talk. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"0 -
TT to,use to block the last caller. My elderly friend has been plagued with calls lately. However, when she rang the number she had a recorded message saying that she was not subscribed to that service.

TalkTalk rep you will doubtless be aware of many posts on the TalkTalk forum complaining about just this kind of reply.
That scammers know my name and that I am a TalkTalk subscriber is TalkTalk's fault. The very least you could do is to remind people of the data loss and point out that those details are being used now - just when they hope we will have forgotten how they got the information.
That TalkTalk clearly refuses to warn customers now that there is an established threat is disgraceful. You are about to lose my custom, and no doubt that of many others.0 -
I'm no longer a customer of TalkTalk because of their incompetence.
I remained loyal through the hacking thing and received email updates stating that my data was secure.
After receiving an offer of recompense which turned out to be useless, I changed supplier.
Since then, I have received numerous calls, supposedly from TalkTalk telling me my account is overdue, they're about to cut me off, they've noticed problems with my line or viruses on my computer.
In my opinion, TalkTalk are up there in the ranks of "not even if they were the last supplier left" with British Gas. Don't ask. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0
