It the link posted a few posts up it says it's set 10 years before the original series!.
If it was set before Archer it would be very boring and just a ship travelling between planets at warp 2 taking months before they see anything interesting!0 -
My thoughts exactly.
The original series seemed to me to be more about James Kirk jetting round the galaxy looking for alien girls to pull.
Im more interested in the psudoscience of it all - And the Borg - they're awesome
And 7 of 9 - She's next level
7 of 9 what a dirty old man you are
What about B'Elanna Torres or Kes0 -
Somewhere around the 400th anniversary, we will have caught up with the Star Date chronology.
It's like the bible stories, a lot of it is cheesy when they make movies, especially the ones that seem to be Italian, then dubbed into English, badly. What's important is retelling the message.
One thing I do wonder, after all the crazy aliens we invented, when a bunch of boring civil servants turn up in a spaceship, and bring a fifty meter high pile of regulations for joining the Galactic European Federation, are we going to vote IN or OUT.
Annual subscription is one million tonne of pressed platinum, which they will hand some back as GEF subsidy.0 -
Whats wrong with the films? I havent seen most of the earliest ones but the ones i have seen it seems pretty in keeping (although obviously more modern)
A bit too young for James T, started watching at TNG. Never a fan of deeps space nine but Voyager was by far my favourite. Enterprise was ok but a bit timid.
Generally a believe in the originals are best but its hard to go back when youve started watching it with at least some semi decent visual effects. Watching the original series would be like giving me a pen, wouldnt know what to do with it.
Very aware ive probably just offended a good few old school trekkies.
This is the new show, would put up the trailer but its not worth watching.

If you ever do decide to watch the original series go for the remastered DVDs\BRs. They really have put a lot of work into updating the visual effects.0 -
