Looking to book a Hotel Midweek in Budapest during October - does anyone have any recommendations for a clean, reasonably priced hotel in the centre of Budapest - probably looking at less than £100 per night for a Double - Breakfast and Dinner not required.

Consider staying on the West side of the Danube for good views of the Parliament building.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

We stayed at Star Inn, excellent value for money and handy for central Budapest.Normal people worry me.0

I have stayed in the Novotel Budapest Danube, Its by the river, opposite the Parliament building and not far from tram stops and bridges.
Good location and decent value.

Consider staying on the East side of the Danube for good views of the Parliament building.
tad confused by this advice.
the east side of the danube is pest, the west side being buda.
the parliament building is in pest (east side) therefore unless you were standing in the square where the parliament building is located you would never see it, unless you crossed the danube to buda (west side)
however i wouldnt recommend staying in buda as its very hilly and all the things you will probably want to do are on the east side in pest.
back to the original question i have stayed at the prestige hotel budapest which was lovely, short walk from the subway and a 3 min walk to st stephens basilicaLive each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -

Yes phatbear, I was thinking looking east.
Or looking non magnetic north if your standing at fishermans wharf!
I still found buda mega sleepy and mega hilly, so despite the view, id still personally recommend pest as thats where the average tourist will spend most of their timeLive each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -
Definitely check out the Hotel Museum Budapest stayed there in March through hotels.com cheap, but lovely rooms decorated to a high standard and a good size too. It is very central to everything and just down the road from one of the major metro stations (Astoria). I couldn't fault anything with it at all
It also has a nice sauna and jacuzzi in the basement which is free to useFirst Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0 -
