Two-driver car ins. policy - NCD

Morning all forumites,
I'm hoping this is an easy Q with an easy answer ... here it goes...!
The policy for the car I drive is up for renewal. My partner drives a company car (supplied by the Co, so doesn't arrange his own insurance etc) and also the car I drive at weekends/evenings etc.
I know that you can only have one block of NCD for a vehicle - you cannot use it at the same time on multiple vehicles.
Pretty sure the other half's isn't being used on his Co.Car.
Will a car insurance policy that has myself as the main driver, and my partner as a second driver allow us both to accrue NCD automatically, or are there only some policies that allow this, or should we get separate policies on the same vehicle to do this?
Many thanks in advance

Amy, general rule is that the policyholder (typically the main user) accumulates the NCD not the named driver. Can't think of a policy that enables more than one driver to accumulate NCD. Of course if your partner needed their own policy at some point then their driving experience would be taken into account including driving a company car. If your partner is accident and claim free this often results in a significant introductory NCD. Best to talk to a broker if this is the likely route.0

There are insurers (eg direct line/ Churchill - not any recommendations) who will give ncd to the named driver - this does come with strings (eg can only be used to buy insurance with the same insurer thus tying you to the insurer at renewals)0
