Affordable housing: advice please

My daughter and her boyfriend are interested in buying a new build property that is on the affordable housing scheme.
Anyone have any experience of this scheme, good or bad?
Any advice gratefully received.

Are they eligible?
Is it shared ownership? If so, plenty of threads on here about difficulties selling on or staircasing0 -
Thanks for your response. I've tried googling the question and haven't been able to get anywhere hence asking. I'll have a trawl through and see what I can find.
Yes, they would be eligible.
Interested that you mention selling on. That was one of my concerns.
Staircasing???
Also, does appear that they will be limited to who they can get a mortgage with for this system, again another concern.0 -
Try putting shared ownership or staircasing into the forum search link above. Hopefully will provide you with some information, people's experiences and other links (and lots of 'shared ownership is bad bad bad' opinions lol - but for some people as long as they are aware of the downside, it can be a viable option).0
