Car Towed- Tower Hamlets

Hi
I was wondering if anyone can help recently my car was towed from a resident parking bay near my home after the bay was suspended, when parking I am pretty sure there was no parking suspension sign up 3 days before the car got towed. The council claim there must of been a sign as they have to display them at least 5 days before the suspension. I think it will be impossible for me to prove it was not and also impossible for them to prove it was.
I want to know if there are any other solid grounds to appeal and try and get my money back I know a few years back there was problems with the signs and road markings but not sure if this is still the case.
Thanks

Post on pepipoo and YES, YES, YES, always always challenge a 'PCN and towaway. ' This is often over-zealous enforcement and you have nothing to lose at all because you will be merely trying to get your money back. Risk-free, then.
Pepipoo is here:
http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showforum=30
Search that forum (not here) for the word 'no-brainer' and then 'draconian' (the latter is a word used by Caroline Sheppard, the previous PATAS Lead Adjudicator, who was very disparaging about Councils towing cars away in the blink of an eye, contrary to your rights. Quote Caroline Sheppard in your appeal.
Those 2 searches will show you LOTS of towing threads, almost all resulting in a refund. Then start your own thread asking the experts whether the info you have found on the results of your search are still relevant and whether they can suggest anything else.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
