What are you asking because as far as I know BofI have no connection with the banks on your list.0 -

I thought as a back up so can excess money if anything happened to nationwide or my card, thought that that post office was not linked to any one in the list but could not figure out when the women says they could not offer me any account because of a internal D O C note0 -
The major banking groups can be seen on this website:
www.lendingstandardsboard.org.uk/registered-firms
It says that the Post Office distribute BOI products but I can’t see a connection with any of the others you mention.

If your application has any issues (or is borderline) then it might get sent for a manual review by an underwriter.
This may have happened and they've chosen not to approve your application.
Plenty more fish in the 'banking' sea! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Other then nationwide they are people I was owing money when I got in trouble in 20070 -
I think that other posters thought you were suggesting a link between these companies, which you are not. They are not themselves necessarily linked, but if you have defaulted or got into arrears on any credit products, including bank accounts then all potential providers will have access to this information. They will check the credit agencies and see it. They do not need to be linked.
if you started defaulting and getting into arrears on accounts in 2007 then they may still be shown. A defaulted account shows for six years after the date of default and accounts in arrears (but not formal default) show for a period of six years after closure. I think that you need to check your files at Experian and Equifax before you apply for anything else.0 -
