Another vote for Post+free certificate of postage, theres nothing wrong with also emailing it as well .
Dont forget that you should also claim for your wasted time in all of this as well, from both the management company and the parking company.
If you want to go down the DPA route you should also add this as well, again you should also be claiming against the management companyu

I agree with the others. Post it at a PO Counter, not just in a postbox, so you can ask for your free certificate of posting (and keep it stapled to a further copy printed out, and start a paper file of this correspondence as it could go on a while and if you sue or counter-sue/get a claim to defend, you will need the proof of these documents.

No harm in emailing it as well, as a signed scanned attachment, so it still takes the format of a formal letter. Not just bunged into the main body of the email itself.

"I will be claiming for my wasted time from the management company and the parking company, as I have been diverted from my usual activities to deal with the consequences of a breach of contract"".

Yes why not, or just post a hard copy only, there isn't a pressing need to email it to them.

    OK that's fine.

You need to re-read it though, it is not about claiming for 'wasted time' which would get you nowhere. It's about claiming for misuse of your data.

Well because you have written, they have to reply first. They can't go straight to court claim whilst the matter is still in dispute and correspondence is in play. But:

Even if they did send court papers, you would have 14 days to acknowledge service of the claim so could do that on your return on MCOL (a very simple process, not requiring a defence yet, just a matter of making a note of the Govt Gateway ID as you only see it once...).

Then you would have most of February to compose a decent defence, because acknowledging court papers buys you more time & means you would have about a month to defend, from the date on the court papers - but only if AOS is done within 14 days.

Nothing that a week's holiday will prevent!
