wanting rid of a van left on private land owned by others.

What legal rights do I have if someone has potentially abandoned a van in mine and neighbours private carpark owned by ourselves.
I've spoken to my local council and they wont do anything due to being on private land, its the landowners problem.
So my thoughts are to open the door, its left unlocked. Snap the steering lock and with help from a neighbour push it onto the nearest public road and phone the council to remove it.
Would I be able to do this myself?
I've just left a note on the windscreen asking for it to be moved, but its been there 3 weeks.
Its been noted by several people that someone is sleeping in it. I've seen movement in it 2 weeks ago.
The van is untaxed/insured since end of may 2016, so it has been driven about upto being parked up.
Its a grotty looking van with rot and trim missing and flower decals scattered over it.

The registration is XXXXXXX and a white Citroen. Its a grotty looking van with rot and trim missing and flower decals scattered over it.
You may want to remove the reg no., as it could be seen as a huge invasion of privacy.
Looking through the old MoTs though, it could have been parked up for a long time. It seems to have averaged less than 1 mile a year for the last few.......💙💛 💔0 -
Ignore that. Everything you need to know is here

Thanks for the replies. I was hoping someone could get a bit more info. Glad to find out its been parked up for a long time. As it shows it must been moving about nearby after others complain about it.
I'll have to check the instrument panel to see the odometer, it may however be a digital one though.
I'd like to keep the reg up, as it does view into my house and others, and that's invading my privacy and neighbours about. Off course we all have families so if it came up registered to a !!!!!phile i'd sooner know.0 -

Just checked the MoT history myself, What a shed. It seems to have done 5 miles since Feb 2009. In one year the mileage dropped a couple of hundred miles. What a proper shed it is going back through its history.0

Speak to the council again as they have a duty under the Refuse Disposal (Amenity) Act 1978 to remove vehicles in the open air which appear to be abandoned. http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1978/3/crossheading/abandoned-vehicles-and-other-refuseI've spoken to my local council and they wont do anything due to being on private land, its the landowners problem.0 -
I did see that was mentioned while scanning through the link. I'll deffo be looking into getting onto them tomorrow.
The van I now locked so someone has been into it recently.0 -
Put pressure on the council as said
Don't move it yourself as its not your property, best stay safe.0 -
