Quit job -sanction ?

Hi all
I've been claiming jsa for a few months . I got a care job working 16 hrs a week . They took forever with references etc . and I didn't know where I was going.
Eventually I had a start date and I went to the address I.e the home . However I was given a list of 16 addresses and given the hours which was like an hour here and hour there . I would be paid no travel etc . I don't drive and each place would take me 1-1 1/2 hours to get to.

I was never told this . I have arthritis and I know I could no cope . It was also one on one care , I was not told this . I have been attacked on 1:1 care , I am a small female .

I quit after 1 day ( 4hrs ). That was 3 weeks ago . I told the job centre . When will I find out if I'm sanctioned etc ? Do I get a warning . I got a letter saying they acknowledge my circumstances have changed and it may affect my benefit .Thanks .

I did but I was told it was a couple of addresses that were easily accessible .

  • In that case tell the decision maker what you've written here, and if you are sanctioned you should be successful in an appeal, especially if you provide medical evidence of how it would affect your health.

For next time, why not look at working in a care home. Home care work is not going to work for a non driver.
