Stoozing and Unforeseen Credit Needed

Hi all,

Decided to give up stoozing - need to keep the credit report shiny as a new need for credit just appeared. Looking for advice on how to maximise my chances of getting a personal loan in approx. 6 months time, current situation as follows:

Salary £35k
Mortgage £108k
Personal Loan £7.5k, just paid off.
3 Stooze cards, combined limit £15.6k, just paid them all off
1 long standing bank issued CC, limit £3.5k, hardly ever used, cleared in full every month.

Need to borrow £15k, looking to pay back over 5-7 years. Any advice? I don't know whether I should be canceling cards!

I would have thought you would need to get rid of the stooze cards otherwise you would be asking for credit roughly the same as your gross salary (as you might choose to fill the cards again if you still have them).

Thanks for the quick reply - I'd better get one or two closed off then. Just worried about the hit to the credit score making chances of loan approval worse!
