Letting an apartment - credit check

My living situation is pretty bad to the point where I have to move out (family feud). I've just some enquiries regarding a fully furnished apartment and the monthly rent is ideal for me. Trouble is I've just asked what the next step is for reserving is because it's a new build and they do a credit check to make sure I can afford it. My credit rating is awful from past stupidity and it annoys me because I know I can afford this apartment. What are the chances of being rejected? I don't want to proceed any further if I'm declined. The credit check is done by a company called Let Sure.
Do what you want because in the end people will judge you anyway.

I suggest you let the owner/agent know what the credit check is likely to reveal. Different landlords are worried about different things...0

That's a good idea, I just want to save myself any embarrassment. They also do an employee and wages check so that will show that I can afford it, even with any other credit commitments I have, which is just a credit card, mobile phone and HP for a car.Do what you want because in the end people will judge you anyway.0

The so-called "credit check" will reveal nothing about you other than records that are already in the public domain. For example, bankruptcy records or CCJs. Letting agencies do not have access to credit reference agency files, despite the vague implication that they do. Tell the letting agent nothing.0

I don't have CCJs or bankruptcy but I have a couple of old defaults that are almost ready to drop off my file. Will they say all of my current borrowing which will show everything's up to date? Is it basically the computer saying I'm either good or bad for letting to??Do what you want because in the end people will judge you anyway.0

Have you not read GingerBob's post? Letting agencies do not have access to this info so they will never know. Fill in the application, do not give any more info than you have to and let them run the check. Chances are you will be fine.0 -
Sorry yes I did read the reply, what I was trying to say is what's the point of the credit check if it doesn't actually show anything? I have a poor credit score, I'm assuming they won't see that either? How does it determine whether I'm suitable or not?Do what you want because in the end people will judge you anyway.0

No lender or bank not even MI5 can see your score, only YOU can see the credit score.
I can't say for sure but maybe they just check for CCJ's.
Maybe google what is involved with regards renting, what is searched for etc.
The old defaults might not even be an issue.0
