Can I get a default removed?

Options
Looking at my credit file the other day I notice T Mobile have put a default on my file over £20. There was some confusion when I moved my phone from T Mobile to EE so I had one account for 3 phones, daughters, other halves and mine and one direct debit, on doing this, they then credited my bank account £9, shortly after, I received a bill from T Mobile for £20, I queried it as I couldn't understand why they would refund me £9 then send me a bill for £20, they said they would look into it, never heard back, a while later I get a debt collection letter, again I queried it, again they said they would look into it, never heard back, now I find a default on my credit file, which I feel is unfair, we are talking £20 for gods sake if I did owe it I'd pay it, no big deal.
I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world

The only way to have a default removed is if it was place unfairy, you don't owe the money or done in breach of the agreement you have with them. And nothing that you've described seems to mention either of those, just that you've figured to, for some reason, not pay the 20 quid bill while waiting for 9 quid refund and didn't chase up with them about a decision for months, as this is how long it takes to proceed with default.

On merry note it's a default for 20 quid, so shouldn't have a massive impact as time passes. Of course you can call them and ask them politely to remove it as a gesture of good will, but that is entirely at their mercy.

I wasn't waiting for a refund of £9, they refunded me £9 and then sent a bill for £20 which I was a little puzzled by, all I asked them to do was clarify the situation before I paid anything (if I needed too).

I’ve known EE remove a default on a discretionary basis for a friend, as it was the result of some confusion. It’s worth seeing whether T Mobile would consider doing the same.
