Uk cps parking charge in private parking for permit holders only

I've read a few threads but they are from 2012 and I understand things have changed since then.
I was parked in a private car park for permit holders only, I didn't actually know this as I've parked there several times, on this occasion though I went back to my car to a 'parking charge' from UK cps. The first tine they saw my car was at 14:42 and then gave me a ticket at 14:47, i have heard about the 10 minute grace period but im not sure if that applies to private parking. It's for 60 pound increasing to 100 pound after 14 days.
I've been in contact with a few friends who have all said ignore it and don't pay it but obviously I'm worrying.
Can anyone advise me?

just read the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread and follow the advice for IPC members and read about the kangaroo court IAS appeal as well

you should issue the one letter to UKCPS and then ignore unless you get court papers

they have 6 years to bring a court case for non-payment of an invoice

the "friends" who said IGNORE are fools and havent a clue

any 10 minutes grace period is for council car parks , not private ones

As Redx said. This is an IPC firm so read any other UKCPS or IPC threads. Look through the forum threads and also search this board for the obvious keyword: 'UKCPS'. The search function for this board works well, you will find loads of threads. ONLY read 2016 results.

Submit one challenge around day 17, as per the NEWBIES thread (so it gets to them before day 21) then IGNORE the offer of the IAS. Come back here to this thread if UKCPS try a rare small claim; they are a bit hit and miss with claims/evidence, IMHO, not the sharpest in court, from cases we have seen reported that they've lost. They do win some as well, and many cases NEVER go that far. You need to know that it is possible you could lose at a hearing in the end - your worst case scenario - but if so, there is no CCJ as long as you THEN paid when a Judge told you to. Typical total to pay is about £175 in a court situation if lost, no effect on your credit at all - and these are defendable.

We do agree with your friends who say 'do not pay'. But not 'ignore', not until you have sent one appeal to look reasonable and engage in denying any debt, as keeper. Have a look at the IPC Code of Practice (Google it) and read what it says about Grace Periods.

DO NOT imply who was driving in any challenge, hence why the NEWBIES thread gives you the basis of a template of questions which keeps the driver unidentified.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Are you saying you parked after 14:37? No, thought not.

If it's Permit Holders Only, then there is no offer to you to park, so, despite what UKCPS may think, you cannot have agreed to and/or breached any contract. They are not in a position to pursue you for anything. You were trespassing, so only the landowner can take this up.
