About to Exchange when to insure

We are about to Exchange but do t have a fixed date yet. Can I just unsure the house we are buying as you have a 14 day cancellation policy with most insurers or do you have to do it on the exchange date?

You insure from the date of exchange (assuming this isn't a brand new build when you insure on completion)
  • It's only 4 years old but I thought it would save time if I insured now and I could email the solicitor the certificate.

In that case you insure it from date of exchange.

Your sol will give you the date in enough time to get the cover in place.
