Just a word of warning on if you are associated to someone on your credit file who has irked Amex ever before. I did an IVA ten years ago so I knew i'd be on their life long blacklist. When my wife applied for an Amex they declined her, citing my association with her (we have a joint mortgage which links us on CRAs).Never argue with an idiot. Especially not this idiot because I'm always right anyway.0

The additional cardholder won't be checked, since you're the one responsible for making payments.
Also, having your partner as an additional cardholder won't create by itself a financial association between the two of you.0
