I received a pcn which i appealed which was refused. I sent six post dated cheques of five pounds each with a letter explaining that as I am a flexi worker I am not guaranteed regular shifts every week so thirty pounds is a lot for me in one payment. I have received the cheques back today with a note saying they are unable to accept these and to send payment of thirty pounds which I can't afford.. As I've offered payment how can they refuse this... please can you help me on this
Many thanks

They are just being bloody minded and cannot be bothered.
You have offered to pay albiet over a period of time, doubt if the ticket says you cannot pay over a period of time.
Shame you did not come here first though
Who is the parking company0 -
At least you got the cheques back ! If u appealed then u must have believed you were in the right - so why pay them ? I am assuming that it was a private parking company and not a council one. If the latter, it will be a different ball game.
If it was a ppc, then in my opinion you have acted reasonably by offering post dated payments with an explanation as to why. If it goes to court, then let them explain to the judge why the didn't accept your payment.0 -

I agree with Yotmon, let them explain to a judge why they rejected your payments. It's such a small amount, frankly I cannot see it going to court and if it did, it would be wasting court's time which is not appreciated by judges.
Sit on your money now and chill, wait to see what happens next if it ever does0 -
they will not be registerd to allow credit , the last time I checked this out , I think the max number of payments (without a consumer credit licence) was 3Save a Rachael

No, but stop sending them cheques! This is NOT a penalty; it cannot affect your credit rating unless you ignored or missed real court papers/court deadlines or lost, then refused to pay, after a court hearing (hardly likely...read on).
Is this merely one of those daft 'PCNs' from a University?!
Why are you trying to pay a private parking company at all? We have enough info on this forum board for you to learn not to pay this, it is not a real fine like you would get from the Council.

Get ready to simply ignore some hysterical debt collector letters, same as this forum has laughed at for a decade. Read post #4 of the above thread for that stage.
Nothing needs to be done, except tell the parking firm and debt collector (by email not phone) if you, the keeper of the car, move house in the next six years. That's how long they have to bring a small claim and F1rst are not known for suing people:

Always search a forum for keywords, and read the sticky threads, such as post #4 of the NEWBIES thread which is all about 'ignore the debt collectors' stage. If you pay you've been mugged. DO NOT contact them.
Search 'Debt Recovery Plus landmark Beavis'. Covered endless times, that silly letter chain. Desperate hot air.
Come back and start a thread if they break the habit of a lifetime and try a small claim. They are highly unlikely to pick you...and you have offered to pay so they would appear to be very unreasonable if they tried. However, they WILL see you as a mug right now and WILL send letters trying to scare you.
Please read all the other threads about F1rst and the debt collector, before posting about the letters you get. We do not need to see them again!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
