insurance claim for repairs to garage door

hi all, new to forum , not sure this is posted in the correct area...
situation - i have 2 double garage doors separated with a brick pillar. my father in law reversed his car into one of them , damaging it. The doors are about 4/5 years old, cut a long story short , had a quote to replace the curtain on the damaged door, however the surface finish is no longer available and as such there was a risk that there would be a slight shade difference, i highlighted this to the insurance and stated that after the door is fitted we can assess the "colour match to the existing door " and if it was to much of a contrast i would be claiming for both doors to be swapped to bring back to the condition prior to the accident. Anyway first door now swapped and indeed there is a shade difference, i therefore requested the second door to be swapped to align to the new replacement, insurance are now saying its my fault for not getting the correct colour and they will not pay. i explained i highlighted this at the time of the claim / quote and its not the wrong colour , they do not make the door in the same finish . what grounds do i have to push them to return my property to the condition it was prior to their client reversing into my door. ?
many thanks

If it is purely a painted colour difference then surely it will be a RAL shade used and will be easily replicated. The problem is that it is your FIL's responsibility and if his insurers will not indemnify him for this particular situation he is the one you will have to sue.0
