The £75 stocking dilema - thoughts please

Best christmas we did with my family a few years ago was probably the one with a max £5 spend on each adult (as my step siblings were skint as always...) - ie meant everyone had to really think about what to get each other which was a hoot. The two kids were obviously excluded from the spending limit but the rest of us had a really fun time with it.
£75 per person? I don't think I've EVER spent that on my family members! Even if I wanted to it would be seen as showboating and whilst they'd take the presents the would then moan about it for the next 5 years and instead of being taken as a gift it would be seen as me showing off... so I don't bother LOL My half brother gets about £35-£40 spend, my younger half brother about the same and my half sister and I don't often bother in all honesty
So stick to your guns!!! You can buy a LOT with £75!!!DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

I think spending on christmas is all relative tbh and although £75 is something it is a massive drop to the £800 or so each person was getting before. That was unnecessary really and I'm pleased we can now be sensible. At the end of the day we are all adults, we all work so can just buy anything we want so these stockings can be fun. I am up for the challenge lol.0

This sounds a great challenge, I love shopping for Christmas stockings for everyone in our family. I think I spend about £50 each on ours (Mr CJ, our two grown up daughters, and their two partners) and it's a real thrill for me to find things that they really love. I shop all year for Christmas.
There's plenty of time to order from the far eastern sites on eBay (delivery can be slow) as they often have cheap quirky gifts and gadget-y things.
I also shop in the late summer sales (Debenhams have a good one at the moment) for cosmetic gift sets which can be split between several stockings. Accessorize sale is good for costume jewellery.
How many stockings are you going to have to fill, and what gender/age are they for. I bet between us we could write you a list of stocking fillers0 -
Wow £75.00 for a stocking, I spend £10.00-£15.00 on stocking fillers. And then £20.00 on main presents for both my parents. You can get a lot for £75.00 especially if you shop around a bit. O2 priority moments have some good offers on sometimes worth keeping an eye on. I have got in the past car air freshness Yankee candle, hand cream, shower gel etc. How about X day out voucher or experience from somewhere like groupon and then Put some other fillers in and some nice jewellery. It depends on what your recipient likes.£2 savers club 2025 #2= £480

£75 per person for how many and what relationship are they to you?
Also who is 'The Mother' your mother or your wife/girlfriend?0 -
Slightly confused, but here is what I think you are asking. You are only giving stocking this year with a £75 limit and want to know how best to do this.
I think you should go for a main present which costs £40-£50 and spend the rest on little bits and pieces.
A main present could be a bottle of perfume, a purse, jewellery.
Little gifts - Xmas socks (£2 from tesco), hand cream, chocolate Santa (a cheap way to fill up space in big stockings), a bath boom, hair clips, a lottery ticket, note pad.0
