Oh the power of the mind... I haven't run for about 3 days so I was expecting to find W5R2 not so good. Well, I was slightly behind my usual timing at certain markers on my run so maybe I have lost a bit of fitness. I did think it a bit strange that the run wasn't quite what I remembered - then I discovered it was actually W6R1!

It's very encouraging to find I can do further ahead than I thought, though I understand there is a bit of chopping and changing around these weeks.

WR, well done for getting up and running on, so to speak.

  • Quick update.... week 1 run 2 done on Thursday, then away unexpectedly until last night so week 1 run 3 done this morning.

I'm also trying to do 10-11000 steps a day as well and that's already met for today.

Weight appears to be coming down slowly, but consistently, which is what I'm after.

    So far so good

I have feeling next week will be a bit more of a test for the knee........

Cheers and good luck to any newbies taking the Challenge on!

W5 is not as bad as I thought - but it's freezing up here and I haven't been feeling 100% so I think you are about to overtake me :)

Not if I have to repeat a week again, I felt the cold yesterday too to start off with anyway, I enjoyed R1 (and I managed with no issues) but it looks like a big jump to R3 going from 8mins straight to 20 mins....time to get serious I suppose, it's nice to think back to W1 though (which is not long ago) and see how far we've made it....hope you are feeling better soon
  • Week 2, run 1 done this morning. Still also doing the daily 10-11,000 steps (although the run did for about 4k of these :D).

Calf muscles a little tired but hopefully it will be easier on Thursday..:j

    Cheers all,

Triumph! Completed my final week 9 run tonight and it feels great! Annoyingly I didn't switch Strava on until 10 mins in, so it didn't properly track but looks like I'm getting faster. I'm nowhere near 5k right now (about 4.5) but will persevere and keep going until I get to 5k next time, however long it takes!

Hope everyone else is enjoying their runs :)

Fabulous! You give the rest of us hope!

And it's a good sign (though annoying for you) that you didn't think to switch it on at first. Surely that shows your running is a habit and not limited to beating the app?
