Best credit card for air miles/avios

Just noticed that the MBNA diamond club is closing its doors to new points at the end of the month, therefore looking for the next best alternative. Currently the Lloyds choices reward is up there but only gives 1:£1 on Amex and 0.2:£1. Only other option is the BA Amex but that's not overly great due to the limited places who accept Amex. Also, it states that if you've held another avios connected card in the last 6 months then the 9,000 bonus points offer doesn't apply.

Are you able to move across to MBNA rewards+?0

There's the Lloyds Avios card too (as distinct from the general reward card).0

£24 fee is offputting, although I'm sure the airmiles fully outweigh this. Also, point accumulation not as generous as the current one.
You'll not get anything close to the current diamond club credit card.
Since the EU cap on credit card fees came into play last december, i'm not expecting many of these schemes to continue in their current forms in the long term..
In the short to medium term, I think the Lloyds avios dual card is your best bet.
1.25 avios per pound plus double points promo for the first six months.
If you'd like me to refer you for an additional 4500 avios for each of us drop me a PM.0 -

Probably best getting a Tesco bank account and using their normal debit card. You get 5 clubcard points for every £1 spent at Tesco but the you can exchange them at the rate to 250 clubcard points to give you 600 Avios points.
Teco also have a credit card which earns clubcard points so may be worth a look at as well.0 -

Better comparison would be to say 1 point for every £4 in Tesco, 1 point for every £8 elsewhere (as the other 4 points are 'standard' clubcard points you can get with a normal clubcard)0

Going to go with the Lloyds one I think. Just booked an avios flight and used 7000 miles to save £50 so can consider that the £24 wiped out already.
It's not great compared to the current one, but it's better than nothing.0 -
Depending on how much you travel the Amex BA prem is the one to go for, 20k point after spending £3k in first 3 months and companion voucher on £10k pa. The best bit is the companion voucher can be used in any class. I.e I buy a first class flight pay with Avios and my wife travels free
. It does have a £195pa fee so you need to travel with BA or oneworld to make it pay off
