Booking.com

A cautionary note to users of this site. They will fob you off without any regard to the fact that you have booked accommodation through their site if you do not stay in the accommodation due to it being unacceptable.
We booked for a place called BOND STORE COTTAGE BALLINA the place was horrible . IT was Damp, dirty everything was broken including missing spindles from Bannister rails. ( not ideal when you have three under fives in your party ). They were unable to supply us with any other place to stay. we had to stay in another place we arranged ourselves .
In Spite of several e mails to Booking.com they have not addressed the issue.
They state that they are an intermediary between owners and the public and they are not responsible if the booking is not acceptable.
Foolishly I believed that a multi national company like Booking .com would cover me in the event of a dispute. This is sadly not the case.
Buyer beware is the phrase I believe.
Be very careful when booking with these people. They DO NOT check the properties they advertise and they do not remove inadequate properties with consistently poor reviews.
You have not rely solely on feedback from reviews by other people.
They sent us a letter stating that we should only stay in properties with a rating of 7 or above but they don't advertise this on their website.
We didn't read reviews until booking was completed unfortunately.
I had a far better experience with Air B&B.
I will be using this in future and reading the small print better !

Your first post and it's in the wrong section below a thread which says in capital letters " DO NOT POST ON THIS BOARD - until you have read this please! "
So clearly you don't take much care or interest in the website you are on as we can see from your use of Booking.Com.
Each property for rent has a very large and very clear rating beside it,usually with extensive reviews from previous renters.
The property may well be a dump but that's made clear on the Booking.Com website and your inability to establish that before you booked is your fault not theirs.
