Tablet Authentication problem

I have a Technicolor router upstairs beside my PC. Broadband is OK. I have an extender downstairs. Recently my Lenovo tablet has not been able to connect to the router giving me the message "authentication problem". It can, however, connect with the extender. Help please.

I'm sure I had the same issue, try a reboot of the router, will take maybe 5 minutes for the router to settle.0

Have tried rebooting a few times. No success. Any ideas?0

Is the authentication related to it's MAC address?
I have a PassWorD / Phrase for the SSID and a list of allowed devices by MAC address.
