Free Parking now gone at Southampton Airport

From 1st September the 10 mins free parking has been abandoned and now there is a charge for picking-up and dropping-off. £1 for 10 minutes then £3.50 if you go over 10 mins.
This sort of profiteering/tax on the motorist should be banned. Everyone should have the right to drop-off and pick up for free at all airports if the driver doesn't leave the car unattended.

Free parking was ditched at Bristol Airport several years ago. I think it was to stop drivers going out and back in again. Now it has pushed all the taxis etcetera to park in laybys, on verges, and gateways nearby until they get a call that their passengers have cleared immigration.
There are also a whole heap of car parks springing up in fields and pubs and gardens near the airport that are cheaper than the official airport car park.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

Another reason, (expensive flights), not to use this airport,You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0
