The aptly named Quiet Site above Ullswater is a real eco-favourite of ours, one of the greenest places you could stay in Britain, set amid the Lake District fells on an old Cumbrian farmstead, with dramatic views on all sides. They offer various kinds of glamping accommodation, including a number of unique 'Hobbit Holes' – large underground living spaces with awesome views that are insulated and energy-efficient and virtually invisible unless you know where to look. They are offering a a two-night stay in one of these little beauties as the prize in our latest competition, along with a free family ticket on the Ullswater Steamer – worth £35.
The Quiet Site's hobbit holes can accommodate up to six people (some also take dogs) and have their own separate WCs and washbasins. The site's water is solar-heated and they have a specially created wildflower meadow along with a brilliant campsite bar. There's a shop on site, everything is locally sourced, children get the run of an adventure playground, playroom and games room – and there are loads of local walks you can do from the campsite.
You must take the trip by May 31, 2017.
